Deriod

Deriod was a big warm orange sun who loved the sea. Each evening, he sat on the horizon like a friendly face peeking over the water. He painted the sky with pink, orange, and yellow, and he laid a shining path across the blue-green ocean.

One sunset, the little waves looked worried. “The night is coming,” they whispered. “What if we get lost in the dark?”

Deriod smiled kindly. “You are never alone,” he said. “I will give you one last ribbon of light, and the moon will keep you company.”

So Deriod leaned a little lower. His reflection stretched farther across the water, glowing like a golden bridge. The waves sparkled and danced, and the sky turned soft and beautiful.

Then, just before he dipped below the sea, Deriod sent one final warm kiss of light to the ocean. The waves shimmered happily, and the moon rose to watch over them.

The sea felt calm again, and the night felt friendly. Deriod had shown that even endings can be gentle, and every goodbye can make room for something new.
