Layla

Layla was a tiny rain fairy with long brown hair, green dress, and little brown boots. One morning, she danced outside under grey clouds while blue raindrops tap-tap-tapped on the grass. Layla loved rainy days because the world felt fresh and shiny.

But today, something was wrong. The little hill where she liked to play was soggy and slippery, and a puddle was growing too big near a tiny flower patch. The flower buds looked sad and droopy.

Layla stopped splashing and looked around. Then she discovered a hollow mushroom cap nearby, perfect for collecting rainwater. She fluttered her wings and rolled small pebbles into place to guide the water gently away from the flowers.

At the big moment, Layla lifted the mushroom cap and tipped the extra water into a grassy dip, making a sparkling little pond for frogs and beetles. The flowers straightened up, the puddle settled down, and the hill became a cozy rainy-day playground.

Layla smiled and twirled in the rain. “A little kindness can brighten any day,” she said. And the garden stayed happy all afternoon.
